Police Golf Tourney Set for Sept. 12

Event will raise money for Concord Regional Crimeline tip effort.

Tickets are on sale for the?annual Concord Police Department golf tournament to benefit the Concord Regional Crimeline.

The 14th annual event will be held on Sept. 13, starting at 7:30 a.m., at the Beaver Meadow Golf Course, the city owned course that is one of the oldest in the country.

The Crimeline offers cash tips to those who come forward with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in criminal cases. The effort is a non-profit run by a volunteer board of directors that works with both Concord and regional police agencies to find criminals.?

In 2014, the Crimeline will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Since 2012, it has received more than 2,600 tips that resulted in 369 arrests. The Crimeline has approved 170 rewards.

Tickets for the event are $100 and include greens fee, cart, a swag bag, continental breakfast, lunch, and prizes for the top finishers in certain categories.
